Hello and welcome to Brilliant Society!
I started Brilliant Society to help people cultivate their skills and talents to thrive in the new independent economy.
Traditionally, so much of our work and career development was controlled by managers and human resource departments. But increasingly, we are becoming more and more detached from organisations and institutions – by choice or by circumstances.
We are moving to an economy where change and disruption is the norm, where the boundaries between employment and entrepreneurialism are blurring, and where more and more people are working for themselves.
We no longer have to resign ourselves to the work that is given to us (or isn’t!) – we can create work that we love and own.
But this also means we can no longer rely on others to develop our potential – we need to own our learning and careers.
We don’t have to accept that having lots of different jobs or being an entrepreneur means giving up on having a career – we can find a higher narrative that gives our work purpose and meaning.
Brilliant Society is for the new ‘independents’ – creatives, professionals with maker souls, thinkers, writers, coaches, consultants freelancers… explorers of life.
I want to help you create meaningful, sustainable, brilliant work that you love and own.
I want to help you create independence, impact and joy.
And I want to help you cultivate your core expertise and the supporting skills you need to do that.
This isn’t about just getting your hustle on. It’s about exploring, discovering and doing the things that make you feel brilliant in the most meaningful of ways. Being able to live creatively. Being able to contribute to world and make it better, fairer, kinder. And being able to grow and develop as the world changes around you.
You’ll find articles, guides, actions, tips and resources on:
- Developing your entrepreneurial skills and capabilities
- Cultivating your purpose, talents and independent career
- Owning your learning and mastery
- Creating brilliance – more consistently joyfully!
- Looking after yourself (because who else will?)
I send out a weekly newsletter that has all of that as well as my best picks of entrepreneurial reads, action challenges and secret squirrel goodies. You should totally subscribe.
I’m really excited that you’re here and I can’t wait to see what we can create together.
Here’s to your brilliance!
Catherine
